Torri di Firenze

Torri di Firenze: A Historical Residence

The building that welcomes our guests was built in XVI century as a mansion Palagio a Torri for aristocratic family Pazzi of Florence.

In the Arno Valey the family owned another property, today known as Villa Le Falle, that Congiura de' Pazzi in 1478 passed in the hands of Medici's, the family that would continue to thrive untill the 17th century.

The transformation of the anciant mansion continues over the centuries: Enrico Danti, the new owner, renovates completely the anciant building and in 1809 makes an important architectural intervention in the neo-gothic style by placing a second tower next to the existing one, geometrically similar but slightly smaller. The two towers are than connected to each other through a corridor built on top of a large porch.

The constructions end in 1816 and the new farm takes the provisional name Podere delle Torri. The renovation project put in place by Danti was completed by implementing Guelph style battlements on the two towers.

The edification of new Castle and the renovation works have come to end and finally the farmhouse can assume a suitable name, that is Castelnuovo. The harmony and the beauty of the building was considered by many historians and experts from XIX century as a unique example in Tuscany, a type of construction of which only a few examples exist.

The remarcable characteristics of the Castle are: symmetry of the towers, structural opening to the surrounding lendscape, central block with a lower floor and closed and projecting lateral blocks.

TORRI DI FIRENZE

Una dimora Storica

The building that welcomes our guests was built in XVI century as a mansion Palagio a Torri for aristocratic family Pazzi di Firenze

In the Arno Valey the family owned another property, today known as Villa Le Falle, that Congiura de' Pazzi in 1478 passed in the hands of Medici's, the family that would continue to thrive untill the 17th century.

La trasformazione dell’antico Palagio a Torri non si ferma alle modifiche apportate alla dimora durante il seicento: Enrico Danti, il nuovo proprietario, restaura completamente l’antica costruzione e nel 1809 makes an important architectural intervention in the neo-gothic style by placing a second tower next to the existing one, geometrically similar but slightly smaller. The two towers are than connected to each other through a corridor built on top of a large porch.

The remarcable characteristics of the Castle are: symmetry of the towers, structural opening to the surrounding lendscape, central block with a lower floor and closed and projecting lateral blocks.
